Electrostatic Powder Coating
More Functional. More Decorative.
Electrostatic powder coating is known for its sturdiness, attractiveness and long-lasting durability.
Electrostatic powder coating is known for its sturdiness, attractiveness and long-lasting durability.
Electrostatic powder coating involves a dry, negatively charged powder applied by electrostatic spray. The powder is then cured in a convection oven with infrared heat to form a hard, durable finish. This coating has excellent performance properties, which have been improved in the last few years due to technological advances.
These coatings are both functional and decorative and are available in an almost limitless range of colors and textures, and technological advancements have resulted in excellent performance properties.
| Thickness | 0.0015″ to 0.005″ |
| Low to High | Low to high |
| Size | Small to relatively large |
| Substrates | Most metals, such as steel, stainless, aluminum, etc. |
| Colors | Any, including many glosses, textures and specialty appearances |
In addition to its durability and attractiveness, powder coating is highly protective of the environment. Powder coatings contain no solvents, so they emit negligible, if any, polluting VOCs and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) into the atmosphere. Powder coating is also a clean process, allowing exhaust air from the coating booth to be returned to the plant, and less oven air is exhausted to the outside. Heating and cooling costs are eliminated for make-up air, and the cost for maintaining oven temperatures is minimized.
